Combatives:

Unarmed combat, defensive tactics and self-defence for both men and women, using skills that are quick and easy to learn, simple to use, and (most important of all) they work under pressure. Our training is reality-based and pressure-tested. We include defence against weapons, multiple attack scenarios, rape escape training, and much more.

Fear and Adrenaline:

Learn what happens to you mentally and physically when you are attacked or threatened; how it can undermine your ability to protect yourself; why it happens; and how to train to use fear and adrenaline to your advantage, avoid freezing in a crisis, and perform effectively.

Fitness and Nutrition:

Do you need to be fit to defend yourself in a street attack or rape defence situation? Learn why aerobic and anaerobic fitness, impact development, and correct nutrition play an important role in your ability to protect yourself; and how to improve your fitness with a combat-oriented programme. 

The Law and legal problems:

Do you know how far you can go to protect yourself or someone else, legally? What will happen to you if you are arrested? What should you do and say, and not do or say, to ensure the right legal outcome if you were honestly acting in self-defence?

About Us:

Our Chief Instructor is Phil Lyons. Having worked for several years as a door supervisor and police officer, before becoming a solicitor and legal skills trainer, Phil has experience of dealing with violence and aggression in the real world, as well as a thorough knowledge of the legal process you will go through if you are arrested or charged.

He has a black belt in karate; he is registered as a personal security and self-defence instructor with the British Combat Association (BCA); and he's an instructor with the Urban Krav Maga Association. He also has a teaching qualification and is certified to teach conflict management. He is first aid qualified, CRB checked, and has professional indemnity insurance through the BCA.

About You:

You can train with us as a student in unarmed combat, personal security and combat fitness; and you can study to become an Instructor. You will find full details on the following pages.
